After 4 years, I was finally able to make a trip to Asia in February 2023. My first stop was Singapore, a country that has been on my list for too long. I spent 3.5 days there and had a wonderful time. Singapore is green, clean, safe, modern, diverse, efficient, and delicious. Other than the humidity, it is perfect to me.
Highlights of Death Valley National Park for First Timers
Around Christmas 2022, I brought Ariel to the Death Valley National Park. Death Valley is famous as the hottest, lowest, and driest place in the US. It features unique landscapes and wildlife.
Spots to Enjoy the Breathtaking Pacific Coast Highway – North of San Francisco
Pacific Coast Highway or PCH is a must-see for anyone who visits California. It’s spectacular and worth a drive. I have driven PCH multiple times between Los Angeles and San Francisco. It never disappoints. For my Thanksgiving trip in 2022, I decided to try the part north of San Francisco.
Unknown Places to See Fall Colors at CA-NV Border
It’s that time of the year again. October is the month for fall colors. Before the leaves fully fell out, I went on a spontaneous trip this past weekend to catch some foliage of 2022. This year, I decided to visit a few less known places at the border of California and Nevada.
Chasing Fall Colors around Mammoth Lakes CA
Chasing fall colors has become my annual activity in October. In 2020, I enjoyed fall foliage in Lake Tahoe. In 2021, I checked out Mammoth Lakes in early October.
7-Day Itinerary for Arizona and Grand Canyon National Park

Successful First Try at Camping in San Rafael Area
After our RV trip, I always wanted to try a camping trip with Ariel. We made it happen this Labor Day weekend. It’s a laidback and relaxing trip to the San Rafael area. We camped at China Camp State Park and hiked in Mount Tamalpais.
Reno, a Pleasant Surprise for My Annual Getaway
After living like a local in Reno for two weeks, I feel Reno is underrated. Although it’s not as glamourous as Las Vegas, the local parks are pretty and peaceful. Its scenic sites and views are not as stunning as Lake Tahoe, but they are much less crowded and more accessible.
Low Key Day Trip to Berkeley CA – Hikes and Food
Berkeley is a great spot for a day trip with a lot to offer: beach, mountain, university campus, hippie and artsy vibe, and good food. If you a have day to spend in the San Francisco Bay Area and want to explore outside the city, stop by Berkeley.
Best Spots to Enjoy Fall Foliage in Lake Tahoe
After 7 months of shelter-in-place, I was itchy to travel but also too scared to use any public transportation. So in late October 2020, I planned a 4-day road trip to Lake Tahoe with Ariel, about 4 hours of drive from South Bay.
